MultiCam Tropic, Arid and Black are all available from Texcel now. I would advise anyone looking for some, to contact Texcel directly, regardless of your location. Excellent people to deal with!

How does the print look on the actual fabric? Are they going to have a 5038 tape to match?
-
I've got some of the webbing on order and I have a small amount of the new colours. I'd imagin it'll look similar to the original Texcel MultiCam webbing pattern but matched to the respective colours of the new fabric. The Tropic is by far the best new addition, IMO.

For anyone outside of North America, if you encounter a blocked site, just use a VPN (google or ask your computer savvy friend) to get past it. It's something they added in the last couple of years for some reason, but they still do business directly with Europeans..

For anyone wanting to deal with Texcel, you can email them at sales@texcelindustries.com. They generally don't require a formal purchase order, just list off what you need and someone will help you.

I just got an order of the new webbing. Here's how it looks compared to the original and with ITW hardware.

Thank you for sharing this!
Your photo composition is lovely :)

Thanks dude. I should add that for the Arid colour, it was a toss up between Coyote Brown or Tan 499 hardware. Both look good and would work, but ultimately I think the Tan 499 looks the best.

Really nice! But seriously it took them a year (announced in january 2014) to release these? Exact same pattern just different colors...

I post it here rather than opening a new thread :

I just heard about this. Interesting. Maybe they can offer a custom print with a lower MOQ than Texcel?
-
Interested in the printed zippers and the MOQ.
-
Looking forward to getting the samples.
We have been in a crossroad between multicam webbing. The Texelwebbing gets white very fast after use. And Murdock keeps the colours but is to rigid and does not look as pretty as printed. MMI has said their printed webbing the colour will be stronger then texel so I hope this will be the webbing we will change too in the future.
-
MMI is planning on selling Multicam webbing by the case, yardage varies by widths. 1" is 1000 yards at $0.87 a yard for double sided print. They stated they are still reviewin case sale and it may change in the future.
-
Is MMI replacing Texcel or is it just another option?
-
Texcel just shipped out an order of mine for some 1" webbing and hopefully it doesn't fade like mogen reported. I'd be interested with ordering from MMI, but I'm only hitting 100 yrd minimums for the time being. I'd be interested in doing a group buy in the future for some double sided webbing.
-
Texcel haven't changed their printing technique, so it will fade at the usual rate.
-
If the MMI printing is superior and if somebody wants to organize a Group Buy, I may be in for a roll of 1" Tropic Multicam 2-sided.

Does anyone have any pictures of the fading?
I use Texcel webbing, and I put a 5" strip (of every color variation and type I have purchased from them) on a board out in the direct sun and left it out for about a year. I don't notice any fading at all. That might just be for sun fading, I guess. Does it fade with water or washing? My test strips have been subject to rain and snow, but I've only washed the "gear" I made with Texcel webbing once to test for fading and thread durability; all was fine through one wash.

You got to actually use your gear to have it fade.... And it's mainly from abrasion and not UV. Any printed webbing that has done a deployment or similar is pretty much always faded. Don't have any photos on hand, but I'm sure that someone here has some examples around.

Yeah, I figured it must be abrasion more than anything. Thanks for the input as always!

Not the best photo as an example, but there is a photo of some lightly faded webbing: https://s23gearmonkey75.files.wordpress.com/2015/05/img_4344.jpg (https://s23gearmonkey75.files.wordpress.com/2015/05/img_4344.jpg)

Here's some shots of brand new webbing compared to webbing on a TAD Gear Pack. This pack as approx. 3 years of sporadic use as my day bag in the army. If I had deployed overseas with it, it would be much worse.

That's disappointing. Can you do a side by side comparison of just two strips of webbing? Maybe in top of MC Cordura. My MMI rep just said they got green lit for black and arid, and are working on tropic. We're still waiting for samples ::)

I will do it on Monday for you but i know that i will stay with Texcel even MMI looks it will not fade as fast as Texcel. Firstly MMI is more harder on touch then Texcel, secondly the colors are not so sharp as Texcel. You will see.

The MMI looks close to cordura500d then Texel. It just looks weird on their vest because people have gotten used to seeing texel webbing.
-
Yeah the MMI webbing looks way more correct in terms of shade than what the Texcel webbing does.
-
The lighter one sewn to the panel is MMI? and the darker one is Texcel??
-
yes
