If some animals are to be more equal than others, what's the criteria to be considered more equal?

I think any member who has an interest in design should be able to become a member of the area. I am very small and off on again with this due to family commitments how ever I do have a good eye for design I think. My execution need a lot of work but my mind is good.

I have no issues with it being a small fee paid yearly to help the site out.

Maybe some sort of NDA needs to be agreed to as well

Other wise I think people like me who are just starting out and trying to get things going will be left out and I think that is one of the things that this site is about getting knowledge spread and helping everyone

Just my quick thoughts

Personally, I think 2/3rds is a good zip as it kets you get right to the bottom easily if needed.

Pouches / PRU - Pouch, Rifle, Universal
« on: September 12, 2015, 06:56:26 PM »
A universal riffle pouch. Inspired from the historical HSGI Taco and may other which have come along since.  Here is mine to add to the list.

Double layered 1000D with adhesive
PALS grid
3/4" webbings for the side wall
1/8" shock cord

Pouches / Re: Multi Tool Pouch

So I think I found a method to remove all of the tape as well make it compatible with either PALS or a belt loop.

Let me know what you think of generation Two.

It uses the following parts
3x 1"x3" webbing for PALS
1x 2"x?" Webbing for the main body
1x 1.5"x? Webbing for the flap
1x 2"x5" loop
1x 1"x3" loop
2x 1"x1.5" hook
1x 6"x5" fabric

Pouches / Multi Tool Pouch
« on: August 29, 2015, 08:33:45 PM »
I made this today for my SOG PowerAssist Tool, and my first attempt at a pouch of this size so lots to improve upon and ill try and document those changes here.

Pouch has a removable Velcro flap for adjusting the height needed for your tool, PALS on the back for Malice Clips
Made with CADPAT TW, Camo green 483 webbing and thread, OD Velcro

Plans to improve upon
-shrink or eliminate the 5038 tape
-incorporate a belt mount option while keeping the PALS grid
-maybe add elastic for secondary retention.
-make a larger version which will have an internal pocket to home a bit set.
-on the flap use a wide piece of material so I can completely hide the raw edges
-find a place to put a Canadian flag on it lol

let me know what you think.

Pouches / SAW/Utility Pouch
« on: August 24, 2015, 03:34:35 PM »
Here is a SAW/Utility pouch.

I tried to take a few of the pouches which are out there and use a few design ideas from them.

Top lid uses 3 rows of PALS similar to the CPGear 200rnd pouch, on my I also extend the webbing down to the SRB.
The Lid uses a tapered design to fully enclose the pouch similar to the USMC FILBE Sustainment pouch.  It is sew into the back seam to ensure a full closure.  With it only a small section on the seam it still fully opens the lid when pulled.
I also added a pouch wide flap to help opening if you do not use the SRB to pull it open to the lid on the front.
The strap is sew into the bottom seam to allow for it to also be used as a compression strap when used as a utility pouch.
It is constructed with three pieces of material, Lid, Back, Front & Sides.  All seams are internal to the pouch and are overlocked snitched.

Packs and bags / CADPAT MAP Bag
« on: July 17, 2015, 11:36:58 PM »
Hey All I have always wanted a small bag for just a few things to go with my CADPAT kit, I finally make a MAP bag similar to the Eagle one for myself.  I added in internal straps to aid in securing gear.  This wont be a production thing, just a personal bag.

enjoy, below is a link to the photo as I still have a few issue posting images here.
