Everything else / Compact shaving roll

G'day all,

Well finally after much observing and drooling at the phenomenal gear I've seen on here, I'm finally posting 'something' I made. It's by no means anywhere near the standard of work out there but I thought it's about time I contribute something.

A mate of mine wanted something small and compact to put all his toiletries in his pack with when he deploys / goes field etc.

We came up with this design and its lasted a field trip already so I'm pretty happy. It's made out of DPCU GORETEX, all one piece to keep the strength.

Very happy to receive any comments you may have and thanks for taking the time to have a look.

Tutorials and techniques / Help making MOLLE straps
« on: October 08, 2015, 03:30:35 PM »
Gday all,

I'm ever so slowly learning new techniques in the hope that one day, I too will be able to create something to share on the forum.

I'm trying to figure out how to make MOLLE straps to put on the back of a simple pouch I want to make. I've seen other straps that have a plastic inside to give it strength but I don't have a clue of what it is.

Can anyone assist me with what materials are used and how to make MOLLE straps? Pictures would be amazing if you had time to assist like this.

My many and sincerest thanks in advance!!

Introductions / Another hello from Australia
« on: May 19, 2015, 03:57:30 PM »
G'day all,

First my many thanks for letting me join the forum, it's a privilege. My name is Andrew and I am from Canberra, Australia; I've been a hobbyist with designing new things for awhile now, mostly out of necessity whilst serving. I'm now looking at the long road ahead and am dedicated to turning my hobby into profession. I have seen some absolutely phenomenal works on this form and my warmest congrats and thanks to those that have posted their ideas / tutorials and suggestions, of note is the inspirational work from Whiskey Two Four, WTFIdea...thanks mate.

I'm working on getting my first industrial sewing machine and will certainly be contributing to the forum as much as possible.

Thank you and I look forward to many years of friendship and idea sharing. If anyone is in Canberra, let me know  ;D
