Materials science / Bundeswehr Flecktarn - thread color code
« on: November 24, 2017, 10:30:44 AM »
Hi,

We need to repair an older BW Flecktarn 60L backpack and build some smaller gear out of 1100D made in Germany Flecktarn Cordura, but we don't have the correct thread for this work.

Could you please recommend a brand, type and color code which is available in Europe?

What's available on tacttrim and extremetextil are for medium weight fabrics.

UPDATE: maybe Amann Serafil 40, color code 1043?

Thank you,
Viktor

Asset exchange / Re: WTB: Cardboard tubes for fabric storage

If you have a carpets and curtains shop close to you then I would ask them about paper tubes. I think a lot of paper boxes and tubes land in the trash bin normally.

« on: September 13, 2017, 02:57:27 AM »
Hey,

Anyone can tell me which exact US mil-spec binding tape is the most ideal one for binding curved edges please? Just finishing the conversion of my JUKI DSC-246 to a dedicated binding machine and I would like to switch to the correct binding tape.

Thank you,
Viktor

Thanks guys!

@Bootcat: you were my last hope :(
@Mogens: this would be for a chestrig, I would need coated fabric for that.

I'll try to to convince the customer to switch to US woodland

This is a question to Amann thread users.

Which one of their products do you use please and for what purpose? What are your experiences? We are looking for our next nylon thread supplier in Europe for sewing mainly Cordura 500D-1000D and nylon webbing.

Thank you, Viktor

BEA-RD, do you just put a little bit of glue to the middle or you "draw a line" please? Do you glue the fabric or the webbing please? Thanks!
