Dual Magazine pouch made from full laminate
« on: February 04, 2017, 06:04:32 PM »
After seeing WTF SAR12 laminate pouch I wanted to try and make a full laminate pouch.
It turned out better then I thought. I still think the black laminate would be to rigid but have to try it.

How quick is this to build compared to a traditional technique?

Looks pretty fast! My double mag pouches have like 15 steps. This one looks more like five steps.

Very fast, dont have a bartacker yet but it would speed up the production of it.

Sew the backer on.
Sew the hook velcro on.
Sew velcro and elastic on.
Sew bottom
Sew sides and elastic on.

Does it even out the higher cost of the laminate so that the production cost is equal or lower? (realizing that you might not have done the math yet)

The difference between the full laminate and the old way we did the dualmagazine pouch makes the fulllaminate 1dollar more expensive.

But this increase of materialprice is lowered by the huge reduction in sewing time.

We also goes from 4 different materials that need to be cut to 3.

Nice! Laser cut edges don't fray easily? Maybe that's a dumb question cause if it did you wouldn't do it this way... But when I see these edges I always have the impression it will fray with some abrasion.

The edges are pretty tough. I've been playing with the same laminate and it appears to be very resistant to fraying.

Depends of the material. Hypalon frays alot. We have not had any problems with the cordura laminate. Over years you would ofcource see fraying.
