M81 Woodland Webbing
« on: January 19, 2015, 01:22:24 PM »
Would anyone be interested in A-A-55301 T3 and T6 in M81 Woodland? I'm asking simply to gauge interest as I'm considering having a custom print run done and would like to possibly sell off some rolls that will be surplus. It's all hypothetical at this point, but the webbing would be made by Texcel, double sided print and we'd be ordering the minimum amount.

I've always loved the woodland pattern and I HATE covering camo up with solid colour webbing! I saw that HSGI has commissioned Murdock Webbing to make an M81, although I think it's exclusively for HSGI. It would be nice if there were a source for others to purchase from.

Let me know what you guys think. Also, if you think there is another pattern that would do well, let me know, and I'll look into what it would cost to get done.

I have a customer that had inquired about M81 material, he might be interested.  I'll put the word out and see.

Depending on price, I'd be potentially interested in some 1" double sided.

Might be a non-starter. They they initially said they could do 2500 yards for a custom print, but now they are telling me 10000 @ the same rate as MultiCam, which is WAY too much for me. I'll need to press this more and see if there is anyway to make this happen.

Update: The issue is that for a completely new pattern, they need to create screens for printing. The minimum order would need to be 10000 yards total, 2500 yards of each different type of webbing.

If I were you, I'd rather talk to Murdoc and HSGI to be able to be a part of their fun.

Unless you can actually do 10k yards ???

You bet. 10k is a little extreme for me. I'm hoping this HSGI/Murdock arrangement isn't exclusive. I guess we'll see when they answer my email.

Yeah, 10K yards is their minimum on anything they don't normally stock.

Definitely interested to see what Murdock/HSGI have to say if/when you hear back from them.

I stopped by the Murdock booth and spoke with Ray Clark, Vice President of Sales.
He said that he would sale us his M81 Webbing, it's not on lock down.
There was a time when it was closed to outside customers, but not now.
I picked up a sample and will post a picture when I get to a more friendly Internet provider.

What were/are their minimums?  They were 300 yards last time I checked if I remember correctly.

I might also be interested in the Murdock webbing if the price is right.

I may be interested too, if the price is around that of the MC webbing that they offer currently.  Will have to start off in short lengths (around 20m) to gauge interest in the UK.

Same here.  This may be something we can all use so even if there is a minimum that would prohibitive to a single shop, If we all pitch in together as a group buy it may be doable.

I might be an asshole, but why does it have to be 20m rolls to have any interest in the UK? I used to live in Norway and I still got webbing by the 100 yard roll..
From a production point of view (as in manufacturing of webbing, not gear) it makes absolutely no sense to sell it in a lower quantity than 100 yards (which is what, $35?), especially not do custom rolls of 20 yards.
