Murdock webbing is VERY resistant to fading. Much more than any printed webbing. It does have different "feel" to it, and it's not a smooth running through buckles.

The fibers are colored before being knit, therefore high fading resistance.
Very stiff, not usable for any free floating application IMHO (shoulder straps, rifle slings etc).

Trying to use Murdock in 95% of our gear. Only harness and slings better with texcel.

Polyester is a cheaper, less (than nylon) abrasion-resistant material. So for military gear almost everywhere you should use nylon. Murdock makes some webbing in polyester for special purposes, but if its about PALS, buckles etc. - use only nylon. Polyester webbing is easier to dye and camo pattern looks much better (colorful). If Texel was made of polyester it wouldn't fade like crap so fast.
