Pre-Wound bobbins
« on: December 17, 2017, 09:51:07 AM »
Hey all,

Been looking at pre-wounds as an option for me, as I:
1. Hate winding bobbins
2. Even with a dedicated bobbin winder, I'm getting uneven bobbin thread tension, especially on thinner lays of material.

I currently have 3 primary machines, each separate bobbin styles (M- walking foot, L- needle feed , A- bartack). No matter what I try, I actually get more thread on a bobbin when wound on the machine itself, basically eliminating the need for a separate bobbin winder anyhow(ugh...)

Soooooo, I'm looking at options, as I'm looking to primarily save time. Open to hearing your experiences and opinions. For color thread options other than black, I'd wind them myself.
I am looking to upgrade some machines this next year, and one of the planned upgrades will utilize the U-style bobbins(Juki 2818-7).
I use bonded polyester now for the most part.

Scott(Sunrise), I know you've had great success with them in your bartack machine, are you also running them in your 2810?

-Dan

I found this, just looking at the consistency in tension, it seems like a good reason in itself to go with them(no sides version)
