Elastic for Cummerbunds
« on: August 06, 2018, 07:51:25 PM »
Up until now we haven't had a need for wide elastics. I'm looking for opinions on what people think is the best elastic for a cummerbund application. As I understand there is the thicker polyester elastics and the thinner mil-spec elastic. Pros & Cons? Whatever the suggestion(s), they need to be available in military colours and for now, a 4" width? Lastly, where do you recommend we source these materials?

I'll jump in.
Nylon woven elastic (think Eagle pouches and cummerbunds) catches less on vegetation than knit elastic. GSI is a good source.
In theory polyester knit would be less expensive but for some reason GSI offers the woven nylon for less so it's an easy choice.
