Combining/modifying Crye and Eagle
« on: September 07, 2018, 06:48:31 PM »
MODS * You can remove this post * I consolidated everything into a new one.

I have the house to myself this weekend and wanted to work on a little project. I would like to see what you guys think.

I have a Crye AVS and an Eagle cummerbund I want to mate together. Any ideas are welcome although I'm trying to keep it as simple as possible.

Here are the pictures -

I can cut and modify the cummerbund as much as I want. The AVS is issued so no cutting aloud (unless it won't interfere with normal operation and fit).

Thanks!

Ahhh! Sorry, I want to use the Eagle cummerbund as the external cummerbund instead of the skeletal one.

How does the original cummerbund attach?

Stock photo

The bands pass through the metal rings and the tri-glide secures them in place.

Kept it simple.

Took an Eagle D-PC cummerbund, removed the elastic, stitched it closed, and ran some thick shock cord through the d-ring loops and MOLLE. Couldn't have asked for a better fit. I think I'm going to remove the cummerbund padding too.

I did this mainly because the AVS side plate pockets suck. I like having my side plates up high and in the right place. This also allows me to run a radio in the cummerbund. Win-win!
