Laser cutting Tegris
« on: March 19, 2020, 03:47:04 AM »

How do you guys achieve a smooth finish on the underside when laser cutting Tegris sheets?
We found that raising the sheet above the table on spikes/magnets helped a bit but the edges are molten and agressive.
I can see that other companies manage to have a clean underside.
Do we need mechanical cleaning/deburring? Seems like a very time-consuming solution.

Just like anything else, you can probably get a smooth edge with the correct lens, table type and power/speed combination.

I haven't cut it myself, but these things apply to anything like textiles, plastics and wood, so I'd be surprised if it doesn't apply to Tegris.
