I would like to gather some thoughts and ideas on stiffeners for belts. I know many gear makers use HDPE sheets but would like to ask what other types of materials should be considered as well as pros and cons. I'm looking for a material that can hold the shape and load of the belt, but still be somewhat flexible and not incredible stiff. IE, If the belt is longer than you waist, the belt can overlap and still allow you to clip the belt buckles together.
