IR reflective material
« on: June 16, 2018, 05:24:45 AM »
Hey boys and girls,

I have a question, maybe i'm doing it wrong but Google wont help me out.
I'm looking for a manufacturer of IR reflecive material. Black is an awsome start but if somebody had an adres where they sell different options that would be awsome.

Currently I did my shopping with http://www.anytimesign.com/ but they ran out of 2" material. Due to a project i need some material as fast as possible.

Any suppliers in the EU would be a plus.

Hope somsone can help me out here.

Grtz

Black is the typical color of the substrate used in IR applications.  Their are other options, however if you are used to using the Solas Gold from Anytime Sign, get ready for some serious sticker shock.  IR Glint tape goes for $1000 and up depending on width for a few meters.  There are companies in China that produce IR Inks.  I have no opinion on the efficacy of the solution used.  There may also be regulatory regimes within the EU or other places that require strict permitting to even obtain the materials, and permitting on the method, means, distribution and application of the IR elements and the final product.

IR opacity and transparency are factors that will affect the final product.  The way the Magic Black from Anytime Sign works, places it largely outside of many regulatory regimes.
If you don't try you can't fail.  If you don't fail you can't learn.  If you can't learn then Darwin is calling you.
