I'd be interested in #10 if it's compatible with YKK sliders. I think only Ideal makes zipper chain in MC print, and I don't know if their coil zipper and YKK is interchangeable.

The only company that I know of that sells printed Multicam zipper tape is Ideal Fasteners. Gerald Swartz is a distributor for them if you need smaller volumes and don't have the #s to meet Ideals minimums.

I'm a good customer of both. It's greatly appreciated if you mention me as the person that referred you (Alex Gallo).

When I contacted Ideal last year, I recall they had like a 1000ft minimum for printing Multicam coil zipper so I dropped it pending the situation I am dealing with in my personal life.

GSI, I saw the pic on their site http://www.geraldschwartzinc.com/news.html
, emailed them but was told they didn't stock Multicam coil zip.   But, if dude was just misinformed, and we can get MC zip from them this will probably be the better deal.

I don't know if YKK and Ideal are compatable components within type, can try to find out Monday.

Yeah, time, time, time....time is one thing I get a lot of, lying on my ice pack, I can at least try to be somewhat productive.

Anyhoooo, if we can get 150yd rolls #8 or 100yds #10, I'll see what kind of a break down by buyer we can organize....10yd increments?

I'll take 20y #10 based on compatibility with ykk or on the cost of siders reverse pull from them. Also maybe 20y #5 if anyone else is interested.

YKK sliders on Ideal coil work 1. Well   2. Good  3. Just OK?

I wouldn't want y'all to go in on this then say a few 4 letter words when you go to use the nice fancy high speed lo drag unobtanium Multicam print Ideal zip with your existing Tan 498 or 499 YKK schliders.

A tip would be to ask the company or dealer for a sample. Call them up. Don't mention anything about YKK, just ask if you could have a sample to check if it's a good match compared to solid colors etc.
Then you'll be able to directly compare the results yourself, without having to take anyones word for it. Shouldn't cost you a single dime unless you're horrible at talking to sales people.

That being said, why not get Ideal sliders for your Ideal zippers, and keep the YKK for the YKK stuff? Sliders aren't really expensive, especially considering that you're about to add a new pattern to your zipper option.

I can't speak for others, but I'm pretty OCD when it comes to using the same brand of components. For example, I use all ITW plastic hardware, all A&E thread, only real Velcro etc etc. I'm willing to overlook the mix-matching with with YKK just to have patterned zipper coil. Honestly though, you're right, it's no big deal to use the Ideal sliders, and probably the simplest solution. I just figured someone must be a zipper guru and would know the answer.

According to Scott M at GeraldSchwartzinc.com , they do not stock the Multicam print zipper, so they would have to special order a #9 Zip from Ideal, minimum order of 2000yds.

So until my own situation changes, consider this dead.

Re: WTK/B: Multicam-printed #8 Coil Zip? Not Dead Update $2.57yd 500yd min

Maybe new breath into this:
"So we can get #8 and #9 multicam zipper chain.  Price is $2.57 per yard for both sizes but we don’t have sliders for #8 so I would suggest the #9.

Minimum is 500 yards, are you still in the market for this zipper chain?"

I did ask about the #10 but got no pricing other than #8 and #9 from GSI.

So what do y'all think about trying for the #8 to go with the YKK Tan499 #8 Reverse Sliders being organized?
