Loop Material 60" Wide by the Yard
« on: January 08, 2016, 09:13:57 AM »
I am currently in need of Loop material by the sheet. I have been unsuccessful in finding solid colors by the yard, small minimums. I am interested in solid colors to line a bags and/or pouches with. Right now I'm interested in colors similar to Tan499, Foliage, Wolf, Urban, etc... I'm not too picky at the moment as it will be a lining material. Does anyone have what I'm looking for or have a source?

There was another post made: http://gearmaker.org/index.php?topic=254.msg1060#msg1060
This one however, was asking about Loop material that is softer, ie like the linings that Vertx uses inside their bags/pouches. I don't have a lot of experience with this type of hook and I'm slightly skeptical of it for that reason. I'm not concerned with weight or flexibility with my current projects.

Thank you!

Just a quick clarification, did you really want "hook" material to line bags with, and not "loop"?

Thanks for the catch Scott! I edited the title and my post to reflect the correction.

There are kind of two ways you can go with this.  There is the actual Velcro style loop, which is a little pricy for 60 inch wide fabric.  There is also the generic "not really loop" stuff that works fine for low cycle applications.  It looks and feels more like a regular fabric than velcro style loop.  I hade a safe liner with this by gaping and seing it to a piece of HDPE, and put elastic mag organizers on it, and it's fine.  That being said, I don't plan on pulling the mag holders off and putting them on every day, so it really is a low cycle application.

I'm planning on initially using this in a range bag, so I'm predicting high cycle use.

Rocky woods only carries black. I'm definitely looking for a lighter solid color.

I really want to avoid lining up 4" strips to fill the area.
