Title: New Position with Eagle Industries
Post by: BergspitzeCustoms on April 26, 2018, 10:07:15 PM
Per the forum policies with full disclosure, I have recently accepted a job offer as a full time designer for Eagle Industries.  Will be relocating to Virginia Beach later this summer, after my house renovation is done and we can sell and move.

On a more personal note, this would not have come about if it wasn't for interactions on this forum.  Quite literally.  I won't bore you with the details of how it happened but a very simple connection that started with sharing supplier information with another member here directly led, months later, to this job.  After getting laid off from my biochemistry job in November and deciding to do Bergspitze full time, I could never have imagined it would only be a few months before something like this happened.  Those five months of relying on custom and prototype work to provide for my family were incredibly terrifying at first, but as time went on, I had more and more people help me see that I was on the path that I wanted to be on, and that trying to go back to biochemistry was a mistake.  And here we are.

Really excited to make this step into the industry on a formal level and see where it takes me.

Damn dude huge congrats, I guess good things happens to people who are willing to grind. Making this a full time gig almost make me wanted to hate and quit sewing so I'm just happy to keep it as a hobby/side gig.

Congratulations! Out of curiosity - are there more than  1 designers at EI or do you replace a lone person who left?

There are multiple.  I'm one of three.  Really looking forward to working with them, I discovered one of them designed one of my favorite packs of all times, so it's a little surreal to be working alongside people that have designed things that I own and absolutely love.

Good stuff man!

And for anyone else on here if you'd rather want to work for someone than yourself, just make a post on GM about it if you're unsure if anyone have any connections. I am sure that someone here knows someone who will try to help you out. Regardless of it being a design, manufacturing, sourcing or finance.
