Asset exchange / WTB: full roll of 1000D Coyote Brown Cordura
« on: April 20, 2019, 02:44:40 AM »

Looking for a full roll of 1000D CB Cordura, PU coated, Mil-spec, IRR.
I'm fine with an old roll, ebay bargain whatever if it is in a good condition.
Preferably from Europe, but US would work also, espacially if you can do ebay GSP.

Roll size ~ 50 meters / 55 yards.

Please ping me if you have this for sale or if you have a good idea for me.

Thank you in advance! Happy Easter!

Materials science / GSI plastic hardware
« on: March 07, 2019, 03:06:29 PM »

I would like to ask you to provide feedback on GSI's plastic hardware regarding quality, durabily and compatibility with the ITW GT series buckles. Their prices are good but I haven't found anything on the quality yet.

This is from the GSI Main Catalog

Thank you,

Vendors and sources / Cordura Style Code/Number for old rolls
« on: July 29, 2018, 02:00:07 AM »

I recently purchased two rolls of fabric from an ebay seller. The fabrics are older, but still in perfect condition and I'm f. happy with them. I'm trying to get Cordura brand tags from Cordura itself, but for that I would need to know the "Style Number of Fabric" value. It is something like "M50000 S1 N162" for instance in case of a new 500D coyote Cordura from WESTRIDGE.

I cannot ask the ebay seller for this, he/she will not know it. I have sent a message via the contact form on about a week ago and no reaction yet.

The tags on the rolls are from KENYON Industries, the rolls are like 10 years old I think.

Maybe you know someone in the logistics/sales dept. or have a good idea for somehow figuring out the Style Number.

Folks, I need some help from somebody who's:

- located in the US, ideally close to GSI
- having a PayPal account
- having an ebay seller account with access to the Global Shipping Program

PM me or write on Facebook if you can help, thanks!

Materials science / Bundeswehr Flecktarn - thread color code
« on: November 24, 2017, 10:30:44 AM »

We need to repair an older BW Flecktarn 60L backpack and build some smaller gear out of 1100D made in Germany Flecktarn Cordura, but we don't have the correct thread for this work.

Could you please recommend a brand, type and color code which is available in Europe?

What's available on tacttrim and extremetextil are for medium weight fabrics.

UPDATE: maybe Amann Serafil 40, color code 1043?

Thank you,

Guys, do you have experience with this webbing please? I would like to know more about the color fastness as per YOUR opinion.

Thank you, Viktor

This is a question to Amann thread users.

Which one of their products do you use please and for what purpose? What are your experiences? We are looking for our next nylon thread supplier in Europe for sewing mainly Cordura 500D-1000D and nylon webbing.

Materials science / Mil-spec plastic hardware - 2017
« on: January 11, 2017, 08:41:11 AM »

We have a request from a customer to build him a chest-rig and he is asking for really heavy-duty plastic hardware for it. We would normally use ITW Nexus Classic, because that's having good value for money and that's good enough for the average civilian and airsoft customer. Here we need something from the higher class, if available. What is considered mil-spec and really heavy duty nowadays? What manufacturer and model you use for your mil-spec products please?

Thank you, Viktor

ps.: Side note about sourcing: the rig will be ranger green with coyote webbing and plastic hardware

Asset exchange / WTB: Coyote 1" binding tape in Europe
« on: December 15, 2016, 08:38:21 AM »

I'm looking for like 200 meters of coyote brown, 1", nylon binding tape for our projects. M Wright and Sons Ltd. in the UK is having great price on webbing and tape (ask them, you'll be surprised, especially if you can do it without VAT), but they don't have CB binding on stock currently.

Please let me know if you know another manufacturer or wholesaler option.

Thank you, Viktor

Tutorials and techniques / Sewing mag pouch splitters/dividers
« on: November 22, 2016, 06:49:44 AM »

We got a request to remove a triple SA-80, STANAG 30 rounds mag pouich from the below linked British vest, and sew up a new triple, AK-47 mag compatible mag pouch. The project seems to be simple, but I had to realize that I have no idea how to sew in two splitters into one pouch. Can you help me me out with the instructions please? Do we need any special machinery for this?

Thank you, Viktor
